You, with your useless nipples!

I love my husband - I do. I do not however, love his useless nipples! I also am in awe of his utter lack of awareness when he is asleep!

He said to me the other morning, and I quote: "Oh, M had a good night last night didn't he!" Cue the most incredulous face I think I have ever pulled! (You can imagine can't you) Um... no, he was up 3 times, in fact, the most he has been awake for a couple of weeks now.

I find it absolutely fascinating that he can sleep through pretty much anything. One snuffle, or shuffle from M and I am awake checking the monitor. I appreciate he is little, but he is in his own room, in his big boy cot, and this works for us.

I also need to remember that D is working long hours, life of the self employed, and he has been doing bathtime since early on, mostly because of his useless nipples! We have now introduced a bottle at bedtime. And oh, how M loves it! I know they have done research into formula fed babies vs. breastfed babies at nighttime, but it seems to help him sleep a little longer, and it gives me and my wonderful, helpful nipples a break!

Last night for example, he was watching the snooker, we had a discussion (not all wonderful over here, I promise) and then I couldn't sleep! I had to listen to foxes going at it outside the window, D in a deep sleep, snoring, and M wasn't even awake!! Just before 3am I think I finally fell asleep, cue M waking up at 3.40, and my small shake of the head at D's useless nipples, fast asleep and dreaming.

Rewind about a month, to when M was waking up regularly in the night, and I mean nearly every hour, asking D to understand more, his response; "Sorry, I have useless nipples" Well that bit me in the bum didn't it! :)
